What is IB?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. IB programmes empower school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast.

Why IB?

The IB enables students to direct their own learning pathway and develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive and make a lasting difference. It empowers teachers as the architects of learning excellence, working alongside engaged colleagues in a rewarding career supported by a strong global network.

The IB continuum of programmes are designed to develop well-rounded individuals who can respond to today's challenges with optimism and an open mind.

Why is IB different?

IB education strives to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect, alongside a healthy appetite for learning and excellence.

The IB's programmes are different from other curricula because they:

  • encourage students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions
  • develop independently of government and national systems, incorporating quality practice from research and our global community of schools
  • encourage students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts
  • develop multilingual students.
